The sun is shining, the snow is melting, and Spring is right around the corner. I love days like this! Living in Michigan we tend to not see nearly enough of the sun during the winter, and today it seems like I can feel the energy filling me up again.
Though it is technically a bit early, I see St. Patrick's Day as a sort of unofficial kick off to spring.
Patrick and I went to Ireland for our honeymoon. We spent 2 weeks wandering in a world of lush green beauty, and every spring I find myself transported back by the sights, sounds, and smells of spring. So it is really no wonder that we should find such enjoyment from St. Patrick's Day.
Today I want to share a super quick and easy idea for an adorable St. Patrick's Day decoration.
You will need:
*Some bare branches
I found these cute felt stickers on sale at Jo-Ann's.
The idea could not be easier. Just arrange the branches in the vase and tie strings in various places.
Attach the shamrocks by sticking the string to the back of the sticker.
Then place a second sticker on the back.
Effectively sandwiching the string between the stickers.
Really, the only thing about this project that was difficult, was getting a decent picture to show you the finished product.
It is so cute in person,
and the bright green shamrocks really catch your eye,
but it sits in front of a really bright window, so getting a good shot, with good lighting is nearly impossible.
So I tried moving it around the house,
to various locations,
but nothing could really capture how great it looks in person. I guess you'll just have to make one so you can see for yourself. :-)
So what do you think of as the start of spring?
