I like to think I am a pretty creative person, but I am not artistic at all. I frequently find fantastic printables on Pinterest, and I think one of the reasons they catch my eye is due to the simple fact that I know I couldn't create them myself. These vintage flower printables from A Piece of Rainbow are most certainly among my favorites, and I immediately knew that I wanted to use them to add color to my exterior gallery wall.
Ananda from A Piece of Rainbow is very a talented artist (and a great DIYer so be sure to stop by her blog), and I adore her Vintage Seed Packet Printables. She has both vegetable and flower designs available, but I only used the flower designs. Since she had already done the hard work, this project could not have been easier.
I found some pieces of scrap wood and printed the images slightly smaller than the wood.
After applying a thin layer of Mod Podge,
I laid the image in the center of the wood,
and smoothed it with the old used up gift card that I keep around just for Mod Podge projects. :-)
When it dried, I applied another layer over the top. When that dried as well, I applied a couple layers of exterior spray laquer.
Most of the items on this gallery wall consist of rustic, natural, earth tone type colors, so the fun pop of color from these printables really makes a big difference. There's only one more project left to show you guys before I get to share the whole wall. I can't hardly wait!
