Over the past few weeks I have been sharing all of the projects we did in our bathroom makeover, but a project is more than the sum of it’s parts. So now it’s time for the big reveal! Come on in and check it out.
We started with the basics. Scraping, sanding, patching, repainting etc. This whole project started because I wanted to touchup the paint a little bit, but it was one of those projects that just kept growing.
The biggest reason why this project kept growing was simply because we kept thinking of ways to add storage. Originally our towels were stored under the vanity.
We built this towel storage system (full details here)
and that freed up space for some baskets.
Next we created some decorative storage with these Natural Wood Floating Shelves. (full details here)
I love the idea of floating shelves but they usually look a little too modern for our home. We came up with a way to make them from slices of wood. Embracing the natural curves of the wood really gave the perfect rustic touch.
Above the toilet, we hung a small gallery wall grouping. I used my favorite super simple way to hang a gallery wall. (full details here)
I adore these tiny, hand cut bird silhouettes.
We turned an old window into a beautiful medicine cabinet. (full details here)
and used the window panes as photo frames filled with black and white versions of some of our favorite photos.
Finally, we turned an old barn door into an incredibly unique, hand-painted, Apothecary Medicine Cabinet with sliding doors. (full details here)
This bathroom may be my favorite room in the house. Is that weird??
