My "baby" is heading back to school...

Wow… I can’t believe the summer is over. How did that go by so quickly?

The back to school season is upon us but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. :-) from www.TheRefurbishedHome.comI am not one of those moms that feels excitement or relief at the return of the school year. I can certainly understand why some moms do, and please don’t think I am trying to guilt anyone who does. Our situation is just a bit different.

The back to school season is upon us but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. :-) from www.TheRefurbishedHome.comWe live in an amazing area. At the end of a quiet, dead end road, surrounded by woods, and with lots of friends here with us. The kids spend so much time running around playing that we don’t really see them enough to get annoyed by their constant presence.

The back to school season is upon us but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. :-) from www.TheRefurbishedHome.comIt’s those mornings that I love and that I will miss the most. We snuggle on the couch and watch cartoons. Sometimes I get 5 minutes, and sometimes he wants to stick around for an hour or even two if he’s really exhausted. I know I shouldn’t let him watch too much television, but I don’t care.

The back to school season is upon us but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. :-) from www.TheRefurbishedHome.comI like to think that on some level he will always want and “need” me in his life, but as the years tick by I see that role reversing. The less he needs me to hold him, the more I will wish he did. Hopefully by the time he is an adult I will be capable of letting go…

On a much more positive note, I have some really fantastic projects coming up. I have been really bad about sitting down and "working" this summer, and I am so sorry for the long gaps between posts. But now we are back to reality and I promise to get back on track. While I haven't been writing much, I have done great stuff that I know you guys are going to enjoy. From a full makeover of my son's room, to a handful of fun projects for our front porch, with lots of little stuff in between, you're going to love it so stay tuned!
