It’s that time of year again. The time when we buy some silly trinket, find a mildly witty way to make a cute play on words, and turn it into a statement about love or friendship. That’s right, I am talking about school valentines. Despite my apparent criticism of the practice, I am a total dork for it. Mildly witty is my favorite type of humor, so in spite of my 6-year old’s tendency to take most things very literally, I fully embrace this tradition every year.

This year I let him pick out a cute little party favor to give his classmates. We found these smiley face mazes at Party City, but you can also find assorted styles here on Amazon.
Then I created these labels to go with them. Mildly witty play on words… check.
Feel free to use these labels as well, you can download them here: valentine-printable.pdf
We cut them apart to make individual bag toppers
for these bags. (any bag with a width of 4" will fit)
Of course, no Valentine should be without candy, so I grabbed an assortment of pink and red treats as well.
Then packed them all up, folded the label over, and stapled it on.
It took about 2 minutes to assemble all the bags, and I get to feel like one of those “over-achiever” “Pinterest-obsessed” Moms. I am pretty sure it’s meant as an insult but I take it as a compliment. ;-)
